Check Out The Port's New Developments:

The Port of Victoria continues to work to develop opportunities for its customers. With our additional properties, new rail carrier and improved highway system, the Port becomes the distribution focal point for South Texas.

First Ocean Going Vessel at Port

The first ocean going vessel to call the Port of Victoria arrived to load a unit manufactured by Valerus Compression Services, LP located at the Port. The OSV Warren Thomas is owned by Supreme Offshore Services out of Houma, LA. The unit was to be delivered to an offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

1.2 Million Pound Hydroelectric Generator Delivered to Port

The third largest load ever permitted for movement along a Texas highway was issued for transporting a generator (shown above) destined for the San Antonio Calaveras Lake power plant. This 1.2 million pound generator arrived from Japan in Corpus Christi, was offloaded onto a barge and shipped to the Port of Victoria where it began its trip via the highways northward.

Rail Line to Link Port with Kansas City Southern Rail Yard

The Kansas City Southern continues its march south with the rejuvenation of the Houston to Victoria freight line which will put the Port within reach of two line haul carrying railroads. This KCS line will link the Port of Victoria with the new KCS Intermodal yard in Kendleton.

TransTexas Corridor/I-69 Project Moves Forward

The recent announcement by the Texas Department of Transportation regarding using existing roadways for the TransTexas Corridor/I-69 project was indeed good news. Utilizing the vital Houston – Victoria link of Highway 59 for this project creates further development opportunities for companies wishing to flex their transportation options in this region.
