Port Facility Security

Through a Department of Homeland Security grant, the Port has been able to completely enclose the Turning Basin area and all other shoreside facilities within a 10-foot industrial type perimeter fence. All entry to the Port is by controlled access and is manned by 24-hour security. Additional lighting and surveillance equipment has been added to ensure the security of your cargo. The Port recently was inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard during a Waterfront Facility Inspection and was found to have no discrepancies to the Port Security Plan. In January of 2005, the Coast Guard will occupy an MSSO office on the grounds of the Port.
