The advantages of renewable energy have been known for a very long time – such as cleaner air, lower carbon emissions, the conservation of natural resources, and substantial long-term savings. The Port of Victoria is committed to sustainability and is working to develop green technology projects that will help to reduce its environmental impact.

Green Technology in the Port of Victoria

Renewable energy positively impacts public health by reducing air pollution and improving air quality. By replacing fossil fuels with clean energy sources like solar and wind power, we can reduce the number of harmful pollutants released into the air. First Ammonia is developing a facility to produce green ammonia from solar and wind power. Green Ammonia is a clean, renewable fuel that can be used to power ships, trucks, and other vehicles. Vitis Energy is developing a solar-powered battery storage facility. Battery storage is an important part of the green energy puzzle, as it allows us to store clean energy when it is abundant and use it when it is needed. These two projects are a major step forward for the Port of Victoria and will help to make the Port a leader in green technology.
