Victoria County Navigation District Partners with Green Energy Origin to Revolutionize Clean Energy Production in Victoria

In a transformative step towards a sustainable energy future, the Victoria County Navigation District (Port of Victoria) proudly announces a long-term lease agreement with Green Energy Origin (GEO) for approximately 21 acres at the Port of Victoria’s North Site. This partnership will enable the immediate construction of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to developing a comprehensive battery materials integrated platform, essential for lithium-ion batteries.
Green Energy Origin is at the forefront of advancing cleaner energy systems and enhancing the global battery supply chain. This ambitious project signifies a capital investment of over $150 million and is expected to generate approximately 70 permanent, high-quality jobs in the Victoria region, fostering economic growth and innovation.
“This facility will serve as a pivotal element in strengthening the domestic battery materials supply chain, dramatically decreasing the United States' dependence on foreign imports while facilitating the development of sustainable energy storage solutions,” said Luis Mendonca, North America President of GEO. “Leveraging our cutting-edge technology and the strategic advantages of the Port of Victoria, we are uniquely equipped to spearhead this initiative and catalyze meaningful change in the North American energy landscape.”
